The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking an enthusiastic, detailed oriented, positive individual to join our People Services Team. Reporting to the Advisor, Classification & Compensation, the Recruitment Specialist is responsible for the recruitment process for multiple positions, including union and non-union staff and facilitation of the monthly new hire orientations. This position is also responsible for the internal City reporting and general administrative tasks to ensure all documentation is up to date and accurate. The Recruitment Specialist promotes the City’s commitment to diversity, inclusions and Truth and Reconciliation within the department, organization, and community.
Include:• Facilitation of the full cycle recruitment process using a Recruitment Applicant Tracking System. From preparing and distributing job postings, leading the interview process, and preparing letters of offer to successful candidates and regrets to those unsuccessful.• Prepare and conduct monthly new hire orientations.• Scheduling of casual clerk assignments for all City departments.• Maintain the department’s area of the City Internal Website.• Supporting the People Services Department in the area of Records Management.
The successful candidate will have post-secondary education or enrollment in Human Resources Management. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in Human Resources is required. A Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) Designation is required. Working experience in a Municipal and/or a Unionized environment is considered an asset. Working with an Applicant Tracking System is an asset. The Recruitment Specialist will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with all staff and applicants in order to provide exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will have a strong orientation to teamwork, strong business writing and proof-reading skills. It is essential that the successful candidate have superior attention to detail skills, as accuracy and timely reporting is key in this role. Experience with high-volume staffing demands and excellent organizational skills is essential. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering superior customer service and will thrive in a fast paced, high volume recruitment environment. Hours of Work: 37.5 per week; Monday to Friday
