Reporting to the Director, Planning and Development, the Clerk II - Planning & Development is responsible for providing clerical support to the Planning & Development Department, which includes the Current & Long Range Planning, Development Planning, and Safety Codes Services Business Units.
This position provides exceptional communication and customer service for all inquiries – internal and external, on the telephone, in person, via the internet and through written service requests. The Clerk II assists customers in completing application forms issued by Planning & Development and ensuring complete applications.
Completion of a high school diploma is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum two years’ experience working in an office environment with emphasis on providing excellent customer service. Experience working in a safety codes environment is desired. This position requires the ability to be self-motivated and resolve customer issues efficiently and effectively within appropriate timelines, as well as, possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
